Story

When I was in the process of getting ready to record the "TRIO" CD I started to 'hear' this music in my head. So strongly that I decided to include this (and it's counterparts "Twice" and "3rd Time...") on the CD.

Jerome Kern, Oscar Hammerstein/arr. by Deborah Weisz

Story

The musical line that begins and ends this arrangement is my transcription of a Tom Harrell solo on this song. I have always loved the harmonic twists that this song goes through, so combining my arrangement with Tom's solo line seemed appropriate.

Story

Inspired by words spoken by Clint Eastwood's character in the movie "The Bridges of Madison County." Towards the end of the film his character says, "This kind of certainty comes but once in a lifetime." I thought about the word "certainty" and the music came from that.

Story

Getting together to rehearse this, I mentioned to Sheryl and Nicki that I was thinking of a fugue, of sorts. HA! The end result is what we sorted out, musically, as a trio.
